Geek Partnership Society
Year round service and programs since 1998. And just getting started.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We need volunteers at all levels, even if you'd like to contribute only an hour or two. It all adds up! In order to be a voting member of GPS you need 20 hours of service throughout the year. If anything below interests you – or if you have any other ideas about what you could do for GPS, please contact us at volunteers@geekpartnership.org.

HOT JOBS AT GPS!

These are some roles we need to start filling, please consider if you or someone you know might be interested. Talk to the GPS director in question, or send inquiries to volunteers@geekpartnership.org for quick response.

Administrator
Support the Communications/Administration Director by providing organizational support, tracking timelines, being an organized mind to help us keep an eye on what we’re doing. This is, honestly, a fairly clerical job. Reports to Communications/Administration Director.

Volunteer Coordinator
Identify needs, candidates and support the work of the organization as a kind of mini-human resources department. Maintain staff directory, periodic check-in with directors to keep on top of what we need. You’d even get to put together these nifty ads! Good people skills, sound judgment, patience. Reports to Communications/Administration Director.

Merchandising
This job requires someone who can manage inventory, ordering and planning for our internal merchandising efforts (shirts, jackets, mugs, bags…). Coordinate with Finance Director and sales crews. Responsibility, creativity, customer service skills. Reports to Community Relations Director.

Event Organizers – Leads
We need help on some of our various year-round events (Geek Prom, GOT Edutainment, Scavenger Hunt, etc.). We need organized, creative people who want to make neat things happen and have a lot of fun with people. Various skill sets required. Reports to Events Director.

Event Organizers – Team Members
All the fun of working on some of our special events but none of the stress of being in charge. Various skill sets required. Reports to Events Director.

Organization Wizard
Our Events Team needs a detail wrangler to help run our year-round schedule of picnics, events and programs. We need a juggler, an innovator, someone who can keep track of people and projects. Not so much a clerical role as an all-around programming organizer. Reports to Events Director.

Promotions
We have a lot going on at GPS, and more is coming all the time. We need people to help us get the word out about who we are, what we do and invite geeks all over to come join in the fun. Reports to Events Director.

Web Content Wrangler
Identify and gather content and in some cases create content for our web presence. May include some writing and proofreading if interested. We want a personable, creative individual (new ideas welcome!) who can keep an eye on the big picture as we plot the direction of our future web presence. Works in tandem with most Directors, various other staff, and outside sources, but reports to Web and Print Publications Director.

Web Team
Our Web Team will be growing. We’re looking for people with skills as coders, moderators, designers, email wranglers back office support and overall genius. Reports to Web and Print Publications Director.
