Being the shortest month of the year does not diminish the potential geekery you can get into.

GPS Arts Initiative – Cynnthia Anne Michaels: A Garden of Light and Color – The GPS Arts Initiative is proud to host glass artist Cynnthia Anne Michaels’ very first solo show. Ten of her pop art inspired stained glass windows will share the light with a beautiful garden of whimsical glass flowers. Gallery is in room 106.
GPS Arts Initiative – Figure Drawing Salon – Starting in February the GPS Arts Initiative will be holding a monthly Figure Drawing Salon. The three-hour session would include short, medium and long poses, which allow artists to engage with the subject in varying ways. We will use a combination of nude and costumed models to support and foster fantasy and science fiction art. Through this Figure Drawing Salon, we hope to cultivate a community of artists to share ideas, support each other, and create.
Staff: Arkady Roytman will moderate the figure drawing session. He moderated figure drawing sessions at the Society of Illustrators in New York City for five years. Additionally, he has attended weekly figure drawing sessions over ten years.
There is a nominal fee ($5-$10) to help defray the cost of models and other initial outlays. If we find that there is a need from the community for more frequent sessions, we can look into expanding to twice a month sessions and maybe even weekly sessions.

Sometime in the 23rd century… the survivors of war, overpopulation and pollution are living in a great domed city, sealed away from the forgotten world outside. Here, in an ecologically balanced world, mankind lives only for pleasure, freed by the servo-mechanisms which provide everything.
There’s just one catch: Life must end at thirty unless reborn in the fiery ritual of Carousel.
Still not sure what we’re watching? RSVP for the event at Eventbrite and we will send you the info in your confirmation email.
