GPS HAS A NEW HOME!
In May, The Geek Partnership Society (GPS), CONvergence Events, Inc (CEI) and Anime Twin Cities (ATC) all have a new home!
Located at the Waterbury Building on the Northwest corner of Broadway and Central in Minneapolis. The building has more than 10 times the space of the old office that CEI and GPS shared in St. Paul.
The actual address is:
1121 Jackson St NE, Suite 106
Minneapolis, MN 55413
There's some work that needs to be done before the space is completely functional, but, with our Partners, we'll soon have a space for everyone to enjoy!

Dart tag!!!
Friday, June 11th 6:30 PM
Led by experienced dart taggers, we invite all participants ages 16 and up to come to the Waterbury Building. Since the office is undergoing renovation, there will be a deconstructivist, almost dystopian look to the area, simulating a true, apocalyptic battlefront, appropriate for dart tag. Bring: Lightweight clothes, Nerf, Air Hogs, Buzz Bee, etc foam projectile weapons & ammo
FAQs:
I have a lot of darts/weapons, do I bring them all?
Bring what you plan on using or sharing. Mark your darts if you wish, for recovery.I have no darts or weapons, can I still come?
Certainly! Just RSVP indicating you need a weapon. Is Dart Tag really exercise?
Ancient Olympic events were modeled after war simulations or training exercises. We believe this falls in the footsteps of the Olympics. What about foam swords, clubs, and shields?
No. Try the SCA. Foam projectiles only.I'm young, can I still come?
Under 18 needs parental permission.I'm old, can I show up?
There is no greater prowess in battle than wisdom and experience. Show the young people how battles are won.
GPS of Gaming
Sunday, June 13th 12:00-5:00
MISFITS of Gaming has a “Glewwe Brawl Factory” at The Source.
The featured game (on the big sandtable) will be a giant-monster-style fight with Godzilla-ish behemoths venting their radioactive ire on the city, the puny tanks that pester them, and their fellow monsters. The rules used will be homemade and are far from “serious” – their intended mood is lighthearted fun with a good dose of silliness thrown in.
CONvergence Convention
July 1-4
CONvergence is an annual convention for fans of Science Fiction and Fantasy in all media, held each July. A 4-day event with 4,000 attendees, and the premiere event in the upper mid-west.
You can read about all the things there are to do at CONvergence at www.convergence-con.org
This year's convention theme is BRING ON THE BAD GUYS, a celebration of the great VILLAINS of Sci-Fi and Fantasy, and you can expect that theme to run through many of the panels, parties and costumes to be found at CONvergence this year.
MST3K
Wednesday, July 7th
David Hansen will be running a monthly screening of MST3k episodes in the Clown Lounge, the basement bar of Saint Paul's Turf Club on University and Snelling. The event will take place on the first Wednesday of each month, for a guaranteed first run of 5 months.
The event is free, and will feature the screening of a single episode of MST3k, preceded by brief introduction and annotation of the episode and followed by a DJ set or a short performance by a local band. The fifth month's episode will be voted on by the crowd of the previous four months.
